Secret Mode and Auroch Digital today announce Mars Horizon 2: The Search for Life is coming to PC in 2024.
Following on from the first Mars Horizon’s giant leap into the unknown, Mars Horizon 2: The Search for Life offers an astronomical vault into futures unwritten. Players will take control of a fully customisable space agency and experience an authentic exploration of the unknown.
Reaching Mars is just the beginning as Mars Horizon 2: The Search for Life sends players to the farthest reaches of the Solar System on the hunt for evidence of life. Players race to make discoveries ahead of rival agencies, using established scientific methodology in tandem with modern and near-future technologies to seek, recover, and analyse alien biosignatures.
“At Auroch Digital we pride ourselves on making authentic, entertaining experiences,” says studio director Tomas Rawlings (He/Him/His). “We’re working closely with the world’s leading space experts to accurately portray the pioneering science used to seek life within the Solar System. Mars Horizon 2: The Search for Life launches players to the forefront of human endeavour and hands them the freedom to build an agency of their choosing, but every facet of every feature in the game is underpinned by meticulous research.”
This news comes as part of Secret Mode's intent to publish multiple new titles developed by Auroch Digital and Sumo Digital, including the debut title from Sumo Leamington, new IP from Lab42, and further projects due to be announced later in 2023. Secret Mode has previously acquired the publishing rights for existing titles within Sumo Digital’s catalogue, including The Chinese Room’s multi-award-winning games Little Orpheus and Dear Esther, today’s news marks the start of Secret Mode’s partnership with Sumo Group development studios on entirely new projects.
