Carl Cavers joins Solving Kids' Cancer UK as new patron

Carl Cavers, CEO of Sumo Group, has joined Solving Kids’ Cancer UK as its new Patron.

Carl joins the charity to help support and highlight Solving Kids’ Cancer UK’s vision for a future where no child dies from the childhood cancer neuroblastoma or suffers due to the treatment they receive.

Carl first reached out to Solving Kids’ Cancer (SKC), following the charity's call to the gaming community to make a seemingly impossible wish come true for the inspirational young man Luke. Carl’s support at this time helped them to realise this wish and since then Carl and Sumo Group have gone on to provide the most incredible support and opportunities to SKC.

“We are thrilled and privileged to welcome Carl as our new Patron, his guidance and mentorship to Team SKC has already proved invaluable.” Gail Jackson, CEO of SKC, said, “Carl is joining us at the most exciting time in our charity development, as we are about to launch our ambitious new strategic plan. Carl exemplifies outstanding leadership, sharing our values and ambition to find new and innovative ways to achieve our vision for a world without neuroblastoma. We are so grateful to Carl and all the team at Sumo Group for their dedication and support.”

Carl Cavers, CEO Sumo Group commented, “I’m honoured and humbled to be part of the SKC team and join as Patron of this remarkable charity. The work SKC UK do around both researching the disease and around dealing with the impact of treatment is incredible. We are in a privileged position as games developers, not only can we help by donating financially, but we can help bring a measure of joy to these children’s lives, as they and their families navigate such a challenging time. SKC is accomplishing so much, and I’m determined to help raise awareness for this deserving charity.”

The support Carl and the Group are providing will support SKC to continue to drive research, provide support and raise awareness of its cause for the benefit of all children and families affected by neuroblastoma.
