5 things you need to know about Secret Mode

Our message is clear here at Secret Mode; we believe that games are for everyone and that creativity has no limits.

Despite still being a relatively new team after being founded in 2021, we’ve come a long way in a short space of time – building a diverse team of hard-working people and partnering with a broad spectrum of developers to help deliver their games to the masses.

If you’re wondering what mysteries we might have hidden away , you’ve come to the right place. Join us as we delve deep into The Bunker and discover five things that you need to know about Secret Mode.

DECADES OF GAMES IN OUR LIBRARY

Secret Mode has helped publish some amazing new games in its first year, but did you know that we’ve also helped publish some highly rated titles that have been around before the company was founded?

Action-platformer Little Orpheus was originally released back in 2020 on Apple Arcade, a year before Secret Mode existed. Fast-forward two years and Secret Mode was the publishing pioneer to help launch the award-winning game on Steam PC and console.

Secret Mode also published Zool Redimensioned, developed by the Sumo Digital Academy, in 2021 – a remaster of the hit platformer first released way back in 1992. Snake Pass (2017), Dear Esther (2012), Dear Esther: Landmark Edition (2017), and Her Majesty’s SPIFFING (2016) also all predate Secret Mode’s inception.

HOBBY CONNOISSEURS

As well as being a proud and passionate bunch of gamers, a large percentage of the team are also Lego and Warhammer connoisseurs. Between them, our people own hundreds of thousands of Lego pieces – often being showcased in our regular team video meetings.

Not only do we have fans of the Warhammer franchise, but both Krystal and Simon from the marketing team used to work for Games Workshop too!

DID YOU SPOT IT?

Our fantastic Secret Mode logo can be easily recognised by the vintage crossed keys but look a little closer and you may find some other surprises that aren’t always noticeable at first glance. Behind the keys, you’ll see a diamond shape with four letters – G, L, H, F.

What does this mean? Well, it’s simply an acronym for our gamers… “Good Luck, Have Fun!”

THOROUGH ASSESSMENTS

At Secret Mode, we go to great lengths to ensure that we work with some of the most talented developers across the world, helping to take their beloved games to the next level. A part of choosing the right games and developers is through our assessment process, and would you believe that – in just over a year since we were founded – we had already assessed over 1,060 games?

We try to ensure that we provide relevant feedback to every project that’s assessed to ensure that the developer understands their strengths and where they could potentially improve.

ALL-TIME GREATS

We believe quality and fun are everything, and that’s been highlighted in the highly-rated games that we’ve helped publish so far.

Our 3D pet simulation game Wobbledogs, developed by Animal Uprising, has not only received ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ reviews from Steam players, but it’s also proudly placed among the top 250 Steam games of all time according to Steam250. Additionally, Zool: Redimensioned (Sumo Digital Academy) and cute creature collector game Penko Park (Ghostbutter) are featured in the ‘Hidden Gems 250’ Steam list too!
